Computer Case Modification Is An Art!

Ways I Reused My Obsolete Computer

This was my main system  years ago.  I kept it never knowing what I would do with it.

My First Mod,
(before I knew others did Mods) (ok it is a chassis not a case)

The case cover is used as an end table at the other side of my computer table.  Photos are coming.

Current Modifications
Was:
Full AT Case
Micronics MoBo
Phoenix BIOS
Intel 386/33
64k L2 CACHE
8mb RAM
Windows 95
TEAC 51/4 Diskette Drive
TEAC 3 1/2 Diskette Drive
Quantum 170mb SCSI HD
Adaptec 1542b SCSI Card
ATI Wonder Video Card

The case is

24"s Tall
17"s Deep
8"s Wide

Since the photo was taken the phone has been moved to hang beside the "CD Rack"

The coffee cup has been replace by a Star Bucks

Note: Without the cover this case does not meet FCC Class B regulations.

Now:
No Video Card
No Diskette Drives
No Keyboard or Mouse
3COM 309c 10/100 NIC

It Does Have:

2 Fans to blow on Me
External 100mb ZIP Drive, (Doing file transfers to this system and from there to the ZIP frees up my main system).

System Now Holds:

20 CDs
10 ZIP Disks
Phone
Lamp
Coffee Cup

Still Has The Same:

MoBo
CPU
BIOS
64k L2 CACHE
8MB RAM
SCSI Card
Hard Drive

My Current Home Case:

 Unmodified ATop 901.
Came with an extra side fan and slide out MoBo drawer.  All edges are smooth, (read scratch less).

This was the first system I ever built. It was easy.

This Case Was Purchased here: http://www.pccase.com/products/AT901.html

I've added one 80mm fan in lower front and one above the power supply.   Other than a possible blowhole on top and chaser lights in the front bezel, this case is too nice to modify.  It has a very sleek black finish and sides that easily slide open.

Stop by for future case modifications or recycle and reuse ideas.

I found this company to be very reliable, helpful, and knowledgeable about their product and computers in general.
